I am NOT suggesting wine made from apples… relax!
Got an email off a mate of mine today about how women are like apples and men like wine- and have to admit, there is some truth in it:
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree.
Most men don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are
afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples
from the ground that aren’t as good, but easy. The apples at the top
think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they’re amazing.
They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who
is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.
Now Men…. Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it’s
up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into
something acceptable to have dinner with.
I am an apple on the top of the tree judging by that theory and still waiting to make my fine wine- made a few bottles of some drinkable stuff along the way… 😉
So I’ve been back in one of my favourite cities the past 36 hours and am LOVING it! It’s pretty much been all about my family… went to my 18 month cousin’s on Thursday evening- and she is the cutest thing ever. I am absolutely adore her and am missing her already 😦
Sniff- love the conversations with my aunt and uncle- all the family gossip, the home-cooked food, the hugs, the laughs and the happy moments!
And then went for dinner with another set of aunt and uncle. 3 bottles of wine later, we discussed my love or lack of love life! Sigh- these Indo-Irish families, I tell ye, seriously. AAARGH!
All in all, it’s been great to just sit back and spend time with the family 🙂 Gotta love them!

So 2 factors have helped me decide who I am supporting for the final… and the winner is
So why Spain, you ask?
Well, very scientifically I considered the 2 sides, saw who the players were and evaluated the strengths, the weaknesses, the style and decided which team was stronger. Yeah right! As if! 🙂
No, I went with completely non-scientific reasons:
#1. I like love red and definitely prefer it to orange.
#2. I prefer wine to cheese.
So on Sunday, my rioja and I will be supporting Spain. Most likely at Sinnott’s off Grafton Street in Dublin- anyone joining me?! 🙂
