I spent Sunday in the sun, looking at a lot of different types of paintings- beautiful art and so on. I still remember the first time I appreciated my own work and decided to cover my whole house in different photographs, printed and framed for each room.
I went so overboard, I had tonnes of extra photographs and gave them as presents to people for ages!
Yeah, I know, I can be a little overboard but chest la vie!
As I received the piece I commissioned off Artnouv (amazing service, btw) today, I am absolutely delighted to have art as an influence in my life!
Anyway, stay arty all xxx
PS I still totally love seeing some of the work up on the walls every single time I go back home.
Happy September 🙂
1. Red’s interest in photography
I have had to do ALOT of photography for work recently and his interest and knowledge in this area has been absolutely invaluable. Thank God for the shared passion.
2. My interest in cooking
Red hurt himself the past week and was unable to perform a lot of simple things. I am glad I was able to help him by doing small everyday tasks like cooking healthy meals for him etc. If I had no interest, bread & butter would have become very stale!
Seriously, absolutely very lucky! Nothing I can say covers this enough!
A few hours late as I have been away but here goes:
I am exceptionally blessed with my friends- the last couple of days have reminded me that even more- seeing Tigger twice in 3 days, having some very honest chats with Lady, indoor picnics, partying with tonnes of others has been absolutely amazing and I have enjoyed each moment of it 🙂
I love taking photographs and I love traveling- combine the two and I am VERY happy. Going through my pictures and identifying the good from the bad has been/ is time consuming but SO much fun!
And not just the romantic kind. I know I am not in a relationship with Red but to deny the romance is pure silliness. He may not be a poet, he may not buy me flowers but he does his own style and it works for me- I really enjoy it all! However, I am lucky to have ALL the love I have in my life.
Have you ever been so tired, you are delirious with happiness?! And you go around just getting through the day to get a lot of other things dealt with than the most important ‘cos you actually can’t function sensibly enough and seem to constantly be chasing your tail!
Candy sent me an awesome text earlier telling me how I am doing great ‘cos she thought I could use the motivation- the sort of thing I used to do to Ryan 2 years ago. What goes around does come around eh?!
And so this Wednesday is absolutely wonderful and you know sometimes, as a photographer, I am sad that we can’t capture the moment on a photograph and this quote captures my thoughts much more articulately:
Wow! What a day today has been, the last 24 hours have been just insane…
Started the day in a suit at a board meeting with this charity I used to assist years ago. They had asked me to come in for some help and advise so I went back in for a meeting and was reminded of some amazing moments, fantastic people and the amazing passion those people share.
But then, it was time to don on the studenthood again and so out came the jeans and the hoodie… but as luck would have it, I had to go meet our client so change again and this time, we went with business casual and suit would have been TOO formal!
Now considering I hate getting dressed and changing clothes, I was really hoping to put the feet up, have a glass of wine and just chill but no such luck- the photographer in me needed to spend some time with the camera and so the team (my camera and I) headed out to do a shoot for 2 gorgeous ladies in costumes and bikinis! (My favourite shot is on the flickr page already).
Ok so NOW I had earnt a bottle of wine, forget the glass, right? Right?
Ah NO such luck! My best friend needed a spongey shoulder- thank God for the soakage powers it has!!
Basically all in all, I have changed so many avatars, so many clothes, so many shoes today that I am not even sure who I am anymore… so WHO AM I?! Am I one of these things, all these things?! Will I ever know…
This is such a cool idea- 30 dates in 30 days- though saying that, I don’t think I could do it… but seriously, Way to go Brian!
Talking of dates, I ended up texting TS today- despite every practical reason not to. Nice email conversations going so I really shouldn’t mess it up but well, he texted back. However, there was no question so I am gonna do my best to hold back but yay, got a text on a Sat night, woohoo 😉
On a completely different note, saw 2 really good thrillers as well…
- The new Christopher Nolan film ‘Inception’ is brilliant! The Matrix of this decade, me thinks. Fabulous concept, well executed, brilliant acting, loved it all.
- An oldie called ‘One Hour Photo’- wow! I am SO glad we use digital pics now- this stuff is scary- I know the guys who used to print my pics and now I wonder if they were psychotic!
Meeting another guy tomorrow- wonder how that will go- fingers crossed! Though I will admit if TS cuts me slack and gives us a shot, I would rather that- he is such a great guy but I suppose I should TRY and stay realistic, and not be my usual complete idealist!
